The next thing I am about to express may be shocking and slightly controversial but I feel it necessary for myself to write.
I am not religious, fundamentally I used to be. I was baptised and confirmed into the Christian Anglican church and there are times when I wish I weren't.
The problem being is I now disagree with almost all of the bible. I will be honest and say that what I do agree with is:
*Don't commit adultery,
*Don't kill,
& Greediness is not the best policy.
But, I think that's common sense really, though I am challenged on that statement by half of the people on Jeremy Kyle.
I read a lot about how people sacrifice things they love and enjoy for the name of God. But is it really necessary? If we forget my personal views of religion and see how we give over money, take part in lent and are encouraged by psalms and hymns to be grateful then doesn't it show something? You all ready give up your Sunday morning lie ins to attend church, eventually you'll hear all the Bible and everything God says.
Now the worst part of religion which oddly enough a lot of you agree are the ones who believe God is against; homosexuals, transgendered, bisexual and even soldiers. I could ramble on about how flawed religion is, but to me and many others this is an unnecessary and disappointing use of power. My final word: equality.
